Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
Acupuncture at Dolphin Dive is performed by Registered Acupuncturists (R.Ac) registered with the CTCMPAO. Many extended health plans include acupuncture coverage, and we provide insurance-ready receipts for direct submission to your insurer. Check your individual plan for details.
Does acupuncture hurt?
The needles are extremely fine, much thinner than needles used for injections. Most clients feel little to no discomfort and describe sessions as calming and relaxing. Many people even doze off during treatment.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Eat a light meal 1 to 2 hours beforehand, wear comfortable loose clothing, and arrive a few minutes early to complete your intake form.
Can I book acupuncture during pregnancy?
Yes, prenatal and postnatal wellness support is available when appropriate. Your acupuncturist will review your health history and tailor treatment to your stage of pregnancy. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, please consult your healthcare provider first.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies by person and concern. Some clients feel a difference after one or two sessions, while others benefit from a short series. Your acupuncturist will discuss a recommended plan at your initial assessment, and you're never locked into anything.
Is acupuncture safe?
Acupuncture is a regulated health profession in Ontario. Our acupuncturists are registered with the CTCMPAO and use only single-use, sterile needles that are safely disposed of after every treatment.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing that can be rolled up past the elbows and knees works best. We'll make sure you're comfortable and appropriately draped throughout your session.
