Physiotherapy Is Coming to Dolphin Dive: Pelvic Health, Baby Milestones & Recovery for Every Body
Physiotherapy Is Coming to Dolphin Dive (and It's for Every Body in Your Family)
Pelvic health for all genders, gentle baby and child physio, and real recovery for tired, achy grown-ups. Here's what's coming, who it's for, and how to be first in line.
Some news we've been bursting to share: physiotherapy is coming to Dolphin Dive Baby Spa & Wellness. The treatment room is ready, the sessions are planned, and we're finalizing the last piece of the puzzle, which is welcoming a Registered Physiotherapist to the team. If your pelvic floor, your posture, or your baby's tummy time could use some professional backup, this one's for you.
Like everything at Dolphin Dive, our physiotherapy service is built around families, but it's not just for moms and babies. Physiotherapy here will be for all ages and all genders: adults recovering from injury, parents rebuilding after birth, seniors working on strength and balance, and little ones finding their milestones.
First, what is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a regulated health profession focused on how your body moves, and what to do when moving hurts, leaks, wobbles, or just doesn't feel like it used to. Registered Physiotherapists are licensed by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, assess you one-on-one, and build a hands-on treatment and exercise plan around your goals.
Two things people are often surprised to learn: in Ontario you don't need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist, and physiotherapy is HST-exempt, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Peeing a little when you sneeze is common. So is a baby who hates tummy time. Common isn't the same as "nothing can be done about it."
Who our physiotherapy is for
We're launching with three focus areas, all delivered by Registered Physiotherapists:
Adults of all ages
Injury and post-surgical recovery, neck, shoulder and back discomfort, strength, mobility, balance, and a safe return to the activities you love. Desk workers and weekend warriors equally welcome.
Pelvic health, for all genders
Pelvic floor physiotherapy may help support postpartum recovery, core rebuilding after pregnancy, bladder control, abdominal separation (diastasis recti), and everyday comfort. Private room, your pace, nothing without your consent, and no, it is not just for new moms.
Babies & children
Gentle, play-based sessions that may help support head-turning preference (torticollis), flat head shape (plagiocephaly), tummy time tolerance, and motor milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, and walking. Parents are part of every visit, and it pairs beautifully with our baby hydrotherapy and massage.
What a first visit will look like
-
Your story first
Every initial assessment starts with a conversation: your health history, your concerns, and what you want to get back to, whether that's running, lifting your toddler, or sneezing with confidence.
-
Individualized assessment
Your physiotherapist assesses how you (or your little one) move, then explains what they're seeing in plain language, so you always know the why behind the plan.
-
Hands-on treatment
Where appropriate, treatment begins the same day: manual therapy, guided movement, and education tailored to your stage and comfort level.
-
A plan you can actually do
You leave with a realistic home plan, built for real life. Baby visits end with play-based homework parents can fold into everyday routines.

Many extended health plans cover physiotherapy performed by a Registered Physiotherapist, usually under its own category separate from massage. We'll provide insurance-ready receipts. Some plans require a doctor's note for reimbursement, so check yours before your first visit.
A quick word on timing and safety
Physiotherapy complements rather than replaces medical care. A few things worth knowing:
- For postpartum pelvic health, many clients begin around six weeks after birth, once cleared by their healthcare provider. There's no expiry date, though; months or years later still counts.
- If your baby has a strong head-turning preference or a developing flat spot, earlier support tends to be easier, so mention it to your doctor or midwife and get on our waitlist.
- For new, severe, or unexplained symptoms, see your doctor first. Your physiotherapist will always refer onward when that's the right call.

When does physiotherapy open?
Soon! We're finalizing our Registered Physiotherapist hire now. Join the waitlist through our contact page and you'll be notified the moment online booking opens.
Do I need a referral?
No. In Ontario you can book a physiotherapist directly. Some extended health insurance plans ask for a doctor's note before they reimburse, so check your plan.
Is pelvic floor physio only for women who've had babies?
Not at all. Pelvic health physiotherapy is for all genders and all life stages, from postpartum recovery to bladder control, core strength, and pelvic discomfort that has nothing to do with pregnancy.
Can physiotherapy and massage work together?
Beautifully. They're usually separate insurance categories too, so combining physiotherapy with our massage, osteopathy, or acupuncture services can make the most of your benefits.
