It is 3 AM, the baby has finally latched, and you are scrolling through six different answers to the same question. Most feeding worries don't need a big appointment. They need fifteen minutes with someone who knows.
That is the idea behind our new free clinic with Saja Kadhim, a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Once a month, any family in London can book a free 15-minute visit to ask the question that keeps coming back. There is also a free flange fitting for pumping parents, and a free Starting Solids class on October 14.
No referral. No cost. You don't need to be a Dolphin Dive client.
Why a short visit helps
Small feeding questions have a way of growing. A shallow latch turns into sore nipples. A pump that doesn't fit turns into a supply worry. A baby who gags on the first bite turns into a parent who is scared to try again.
Most of these moments don't need a full assessment. They need a calm, qualified person to look at what is happening, tell you what is normal, and point you to a clear next step. That is what the 15 minutes is for.
If Saja thinks you need more than a short visit, she will say so and explain your options. The clinic gives you general guidance and a next step. It doesn't replace a full feeding assessment or care from your doctor or midwife.
What you can ask about
Bring the one question that is on your mind. Some of the most common:
Expecting? You are welcome too. A few minutes of feeding prep before baby arrives can make the first weeks feel a lot less overwhelming.
Pumping? Check your flange size
The flange is the funnel-shaped piece that sits on your breast. Most pumps come with one or two standard sizes, but bodies are not standard. A size that is too big or too small can make pumping uncomfortable, and it can make it harder to empty well.
A flange fitting is a quick, practical check. Bring your pump and all of its parts, including the flanges you use now, and Saja will look at the fit with you and suggest a size that may work better.
The free class: From Milk to Meals
Starting solids is exciting and a little nerve-racking. Everyone has an opinion, and the advice changes every few years. This short, friendly intro cuts through it: about 30 minutes, plus time for your questions. Babies are welcome.

Visit times: 10:00, 10:25, 10:50, 11:15 and 11:40. We plan to add more dates as the clinic grows.
Good to know
Is it really free? Yes. The 15-minute clinic visit, the flange fitting and the Starting Solids class are all free.
Do I need to be a Dolphin Dive client? No. Any family in London and the surrounding area is welcome, and no referral is needed.
Is this a full lactation consultation? No. It is a short conversation about one question, or a flange fitting. It doesn't diagnose concerns or replace a full feeding assessment. Saja can explain your options if you need more.
What if I can't make it? Please cancel at least 24 hours ahead through your confirmation email, so another family can take your spot.
